There was a lot of excitement Friday morning before we boarded the bus, with students talking about what they knew about the Barrage and what they hoped to discover. Once we arrived, we were taken on a guided tour. The students were fascinated and the tour guide kept them captivated for the entire 45 minutes.
After the tour, we all sat down in a shady area and ate our picnics together, again with everyone showing exceptional social skills and consideration for the setting that they were in.
After lunch we went to the top of the Barrage onto the “Green Roof” so we could fly our kites. It was fantastic to the students running up and down the entire length of the roof, working together to get the kites to fly.
It really was a great day and more photos can be seen at this link.
