The students have been learning all about the rain-forest, the different layers, animals and insects. The older classes have been studying sustainable development, or how to live on the planet without using up all its resources for future generations. We looked at photos from around the world and identified what was wrong with them. The students also found out why rain-forests are so important and what effect deforestation can have on the world.
On Friday, we had a school field trip to the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden. The students enjoyed searching for different insects and we even saw a turtle crossing the footpath! When we got back to school the students all had a reflection where they did an art project relating to the trip. All in all, it was a wet trip but with umbrellas and wet weather gear, we carried on, and the students all ha d a good time!
