SPD organised its third charity walk to promote inclusion and raise awareness of disabilities on Sunday 2nd September 2018 and MSIS and White Lodge International Preschool and Kindergarten were proud to participate as Bronze-level sponsors this year.
The 3 km walk which began from Asian Civilisations Museum at 7:45am took participants through the historic Singapore River and provided opportunities for everyone of different abilities to walk (or roll) together.
More than 1000 people turned up despite the rain, including the friends and families of MSIS and White Lodge. The event was flagged off by Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Communications and Information, Ms Sim Ann.
Daryl Van Hale, Principal of MSIS, was proud to share the experience with several of his teachers and students as they took in the sights along the River. He said the event had several important objectives including helping to promote awareness to the public on the many disabilities that exist.
“We were really excited to be a part of this exciting national initiative.”
“This is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of people with disabilities and we’re hoping that we can continue to play a role in raising awareness and promoting a positive understanding of people with disabilities.”
MSIS and White Lodge were happy to be involved in this event to help raise awareness about reducing physical barriers and striving to become a more inclusive society.
As proud sponsors of this event, we would like to thank everyone who braved the rain to help us raise awareness of disabilities in Singapore.
